Hollywood glamour in Highton
Building Design | Belco Group
This concept design incorporates curves, sunlight and bringing everyone together. The architectural design oozes Hollywood Hills glam, with a central brick plinth in the living area, a wood-burning fireplace, a servery window overlooking the pool area and an indoor garden.
Space & Light

Client Brief
‘Space and light’ was top of the list for this client, which you can see we
managed to capture beautifully from every angle of this home. Golfing is also a
big part of the owner’s lifestyle, so it was important to have suitable space
for the golf buggie and clubs to hit the green on a whim. After a successful
day at the 13th Beach golf course with mates, a space to entertain post game
was also on the wish list.
Sustainable Elements
Behind a striking and bold façade hides elements of clever architectural and sustainable design
and modern energy efficient materials. Insulated slab stops the loss of thermal
mass heat into the ground beneath.
The home combines a mix of wall claddings and materials, notably 75mm rendered
polystyrene to the south walls to add extra comfort from the south west cold
fronts. We utilised double glazed argon fill windows and doors and used correct
orientation and passive solar principals.
Bump up to 7+ stars energy rating
Building Design | Belco Group
Builder | Homes with Integrity
Whilst this double-storey brick home had served the owner for decades very well, the owner was eager to bring the property into the 21st century with one eye on the future.
With views to the Bay and Melbourne, we needed to make the most of these, which for the existing home, unbelievably didn’t.
Sustainable Elements
Boasting a 7.4 Star Energy Rating, the home has hit the mark for performance without blowing the budget. Cross ventilation takes advantage of the afternoon sea breezes and double glazed argon-filled aluminium windows will keep the home protected for years to come.
